I am a big girl now...

Kayla is becoming more and more independant. I caught her this weekend trying to dress herself. Actually, after several tries, she suceeded and got her pants and shirt on by herself. WOW!!! I was amazed and a little sad.

Can you believe that our little giftl is 20 months today. Were has the time gone. I was looking through her pictures and I am amazed at how much she has changed from the first day I saw her.

*Kayla is talking more and more.

*She is becoming more and more stubborn with each passing day. She wants to do eveything herself and if you try and help she gets upset.

*She loves to cuddle and give hugs. Every morning the two of us lay on the couch cuddled in our blanket and watch The Wiggles while we drink our "pink" milk.

*Kayla loves to get dirty. She enjoys digging in the dirt and throwing sand in her hair, on to everyone else and onto the carpet in the house.

*Her favorite book is Goodnight Moon. I think she has it memorized (I know I do).

I love my Aspen...

Kayla melts my heart everyday with her loving personality. She absolutely loves giving Aspen and Bo hugs. Actually, she enjoys giving hugs, or what she calls "ugs", to anything...her stuff animals and even the animals on tv.

My little clean freak...

I really dont know where Kayla picks up some of her habits. The other night, Kayla decided to take her crayons and draw on the kitchen tile. It was late and my sciatic nerve was causing me problems, so I decided to leave it for tomorrow. The next morning as I was preparing breakfast, I looked down to see Kayla cleaning her kichen floor drawings up with some of her wipes that she grabbed out of her backpack. As I reached for my camara, she looked up and informed me that she "help Mommy." My heart Kayla has picked up is a my obsession with picking up the house before we go to bed. Each night I tell Kayla to give Daddy a kiss and hug, she runs over to her Daddy and gives him a kiss and hug.

Then she runs over to Aspen and Bo and gives each one of them a kiss and hug. As we venture to the stairs, Kayla picks up her toys and anything else she sees that is out of place. It has been really helpful. However, I wonder if she does this to postpone bedtime or if she really wants to help pick up. Either way, I love watching her get excited when she sees something out of place and run to put it up. Finally once every little piece of fuzz or toy is picked up (normally 5-10 minutes later), we make it to the stairs to go to bed.

The past weekend...

The weather was beautiful this weekend. Kayla and I decided to venture out to the park Saturday. While at the park, she would point everything out to me..."Dog, plane, trash, rock, BIG rock" and on and on. After nearly two hours at the park, I had to still pry Kayla away from the slides.

The results are in...

Today, we all went to the doctor for my 20 week ultrasound. As the doctor was doing the ultrasound, Kayla kept saying "Babyyyy." I don't think she really realizes that there is a baby in my belly, instead I think she is just repeating what I have told her. Once the doctor was done looking at the major organs and taking the measurements, we found out the sex of our new addition to the family. He was definitely not shy. There is no mistake, it is a boy. I was in shock at first. I am prepared to raise another little girl, I have all the clothes, the pink blankets, the dolls, and princess books. Now what....Both Jon and I are excited. One girl and one boy will be a nice mix.

At 19 months old....

Sorry I am getting this posted so late. It has been a crazy past couple of weeks.
I can't believe Kayla is now 19 months. In less then 5 months, Kayla will be 2 years old and will have a new sibling. Kayla is growing so much. Her personality comes out more and more each day. She is a very determined little girl. She is becoming more and more independent with each new day. She wants to try and do everything herself; from picking her clothes out to even trying to put her own diaper on. This independent nature is fun to watch but can be frustrating when we are in a hurry. Kayla has realized that she loves pizza. For five days straight, Kayla only wanted to eat pizza and how can you say no when she says, "Pzza please." .Kayla also learned how to blow bubbles. It took several times of sucking in the soap and making an awful face before she realized exactly what to do. Now we have a bubble fanatic on our hands. Kayla loves to hear her ABC's. She has a alphabet book that when I am not able to read to her, she will sit down and try to recite her ABC's by herself. It is pretty cute, "A, B, E, I, E, O, ..." There are so many new things that she is doing and saying. She is just growing so much. There is something new each day that she amazes me with. Before I know it she will be in collage, and then getting married and having kids of her own
