The results are in...

Today, we all went to the doctor for my 20 week ultrasound. As the doctor was doing the ultrasound, Kayla kept saying "Babyyyy." I don't think she really realizes that there is a baby in my belly, instead I think she is just repeating what I have told her. Once the doctor was done looking at the major organs and taking the measurements, we found out the sex of our new addition to the family. He was definitely not shy. There is no mistake, it is a boy. I was in shock at first. I am prepared to raise another little girl, I have all the clothes, the pink blankets, the dolls, and princess books. Now what....Both Jon and I are excited. One girl and one boy will be a nice mix.

At 19 months old....

Sorry I am getting this posted so late. It has been a crazy past couple of weeks.
I can't believe Kayla is now 19 months. In less then 5 months, Kayla will be 2 years old and will have a new sibling. Kayla is growing so much. Her personality comes out more and more each day. She is a very determined little girl. She is becoming more and more independent with each new day. She wants to try and do everything herself; from picking her clothes out to even trying to put her own diaper on. This independent nature is fun to watch but can be frustrating when we are in a hurry. Kayla has realized that she loves pizza. For five days straight, Kayla only wanted to eat pizza and how can you say no when she says, "Pzza please." .Kayla also learned how to blow bubbles. It took several times of sucking in the soap and making an awful face before she realized exactly what to do. Now we have a bubble fanatic on our hands. Kayla loves to hear her ABC's. She has a alphabet book that when I am not able to read to her, she will sit down and try to recite her ABC's by herself. It is pretty cute, "A, B, E, I, E, O, ..." There are so many new things that she is doing and saying. She is just growing so much. There is something new each day that she amazes me with. Before I know it she will be in collage, and then getting married and having kids of her own

Christmas at the Ranch

On Thursday, December 27, 2007, we went to my parents for our Christmas celebration. I was not sure if we were going to make it after the first night. I think between Jon, Kayla and myself, we got a total of 6 hours of sleep. It was a horrible night. However, once we got a good nap the next day all was well. Kayla received some really nice gifts and enjoyed playing with Zoe and Addison. Kayla loved crawling up on the tractor and pretending to drive it. On Friday afternoon, we went out to feed the cows and she was all ready to help feed them and pet them. On Saturday morning, Jon shot a deer. Kayla was not quite sure about the deer. She just stood there with a perplexed look. We left the ranch on Saturday afternoon, just in time for Jon to make it to the football game in San Antonion and for Kayla and I to get home to watch the Aggie football game. However, Kayla and I did not make it to the end. We were both passed out by 9pm. Thanks Mary and Dad for a wonderful weekend...

Christmas Day...

Our Christmas Day was filled with lots of smiles and laughter. Once Kayla woke up, she didn't want to have a part of anything except the stack of new toys in front of the television. She enjoyed her presents most of all the homemade waffles that Daddy made. Later that day, we ventured to Hico.

Here, we spent time with Jon's family. Kayla had a wonderful time. When it was present time, Kayla was all ready to hand out the presents (actually they were all given to her Uncle Josh). Kayla didn't want to open her presents. No...she wanted to help everyone else open their presents. Jonah and Kayla were so cute together. Once the day was over, Kayla passed out and slept all night without a peep.>

Round and Round I Go...

It was time for bed and Kayla tried everything to stay up. It never fails, about 10-15 minutes before it is time to go night-night, Kayla finds some extra energy to either run as fast as she can around the house, play keep away with Aspen, or twirl until she can't twirl anymore.

Early Christmas...

Last weekend, one of our Christmas presents for Kayla was delivered. Jon could not wait until Christmas, so...up it went. Kayla had a great time climbing up the slide and sliding down. Kayla was not sure about jumping at first. But once, Mommy an Bo showed her it was fun, there was no stopping her.
